About

SOI Asia (School on Internet Asia/read: soi-asia) Project was established in 2001 with the objective of achieving education collaborations between Southeast Asian universities on the internet, utilizing the infrastructure technology developed by AI³ Project. SOI Asia has been implementing human resource development programs in Asia in various fields, including information technology, security, marine technologies, environmental issues, cultural understandings, disaster management, and entrepreneurship. And from 2008, with cooperation with UNESCO, SOI Asia also contributes to the development of the next generation of global human resources, especially in science and technology.

APIE(Asia Pacific Internet Engineer) program is a one of a component of SOI Asia activities. The APIE program will help university students and young people in the Asia Pacific region looking to improve their employability potential and build the network engineering and operation skills needed to meet the global demand for Internet engineers in industry and academia, including research and education networks (REN).

In this internship program you will be a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Batch03 of the APIE Program, which will run from September to November 2023. To participate in this program, you must have completed the APIE Online, APIE E-Workshop and have digital badges or equivalent or higher skills.

Criteria:

  • Full participation to the progam
  • Final report(presentation)

Course Contents

This program is 3 month long and held in September to November 2023.

TA roles:

Working on APIE E-WORKSHOP and APIE ONLINE as TA(Teaching Assistant). The roles of TA are:  

      1. Development of teaching materials.
      2. Facilitate discussion on the  courses.
      3. Attendance and homework management.
      4. Support students during the e-workshops and events.
      5. Answer questions from students on emails and slack
      6. Work with the platform team to issue open badges and certificates for learners. 
      7. Other class management roles.

You’ll be working on promoting the APIE program. Other than TA roles, you will create posts on SNS and write articles/reports on the Web site to promote the program.

The badge holder can…

  • Make full use of knowledge and skills from APIE Program(APIE Online, APIE E-Workshop, and APIE Camp).
  • Answer questions related to the APIE Online courses to support learners.
  • Facilitate online discussion in breakout rooms and coordinate online workshops.
