Internship 1 WIDE Camp

About

SOI Asia (School on Internet Asia/read: soi-asia) Project was established in 2001 under the support of WIDE Project with the objective of achieving education collaborations between Southeast Asian universities on the internet, utilizing the infrastructure technology developed by AI³ Project. SOI Asia has been implementing human resource development programs in Asia in various fields, including information technology, security, marine technologies, environmental issues, cultural understandings, disaster management, and entrepreneurship. And from 2008, with cooperation with UNESCO, SOI Asia also contributes to the development of the next generation of global human resources, especially in science and technology.

WIDE Project is a global research consortium established in 1985, involving both academia and industry related to the Internet technology, standard and society, based in Japan. WIDE is responsible for global core research and education network operation, such as ARENA-PAC.

WIDE Camp is WIDE project’s annual onsite meeting held twice a year (March and September). At the WIDE Camp venue, the Camp net  team will deploy and provide internet access to the camp participants.  In this Internship program we welcome you to the Camp Net Team as a visiting member.  Not only deploying a network to participants, but also you will join the discussion at meetings in the WIDE Camp.

Criteria

  • Full participation to the progam
  • Final report(presentation)

The badge holder can…

  • Make full use of knowledge and skills from APIE Program(APIE Online, APIE E-Workshop, and APIE Camp).
  • Participate enterprise network team as a junior member.
  • Deploy network(able to configure equipment and install it in the field) based on the documents.
