Q1: What’s one skill or experience you gained through APIE that you wouldn’t have learned elsewhere?

Of course, when talking about APIE, the first thing that comes to mind is network engineering — configuring hardware, networking, and all of that. But to be honest, the most meaningful thing I gained was the opportunity to meet people from different countries and cultures. Building connections with so many amazing friends was something truly special, and I know it will be a valuable experience for my future.

Q2: How do you see yourself applying what you learned in APIE in your future career?

Let me share a bit about my experience before joining APIE. I wasn’t the most diligent student — I didn’t study every day or push myself that hard. But after APIE, that changed. Being in an environment where everyone is skilled and passionate, I felt motivated to improve myself.

When I returned to university, something shifted in me. I wanted to study more, learn more, and be better. I also realized how important teamwork is, how essential communication skills are, and how to be mindful of others when working together. Those soft skills, combined with the hands-on experience, are going to help me a lot in any future career.

Q3: If you could describe APIE in one word or phrase, what would it be and why?

I’d say: “A life-changing adventure.”
Before APIE, I didn’t really see myself deeply involved in the computer field — I wasn’t sure where I was headed. But the camp introduced me to networking, and more importantly, to a whole new way of learning and connecting with people. It gave me a new perspective, and I’ll always see it as a turning point in my life.
